Fujairah: basic conditions for the development of two port terminals have been agreed
19/09/2026
The DP World project covers the Al Rugaylat and Dibba sites. We are talking about future expansion of East Coast capacity.
DP World has announced an agreement in principle with Fujairah Port Authority to develop two terminals under a 50-year concession. The announcement dated July 22, 2026 concerns Al Rugaylat Container and Multipurpose Terminal and Dibba Cargo Terminal.
Al Rugaylat has a design capacity to handle up to 2.5 million standard TEU containers per year, as well as general cargo and vehicles. Dibba has a stated capacity of up to 3.6 million tonnes of general cargo annually. These are the parameters of the planned development, and not the already achieved cargo turnover.
Expanding port infrastructure can have implications for warehouses, industrial sites and service businesses. The extent to which residential real estate will be affected will depend on the implementation of the project, the location of jobs and transport links. A direct connection between the announcement and the increase in apartment prices has not yet been established.
When exploring Fujairah, it is useful to distinguish between tourist and industrial locations. Proximity to the sea or port may mean different conditions for using the property. The next significant stages are clarification of deadlines, construction and commissioning of capacities.
