Trunk, branches or crescent of Palm Jumeirah: three life scenarios

Why one island address can mean completely different daily commutes and holidays.

Where to start

On the trunk of the island, its branches and the crescent, the balance of private space, walks and resort surroundings changes. First, choose a way of the day: go out for coffee on foot, spend time in your own garden or use the services of the residence.

It’s not just the species that are worth comparing. For families, leaving in the morning, returning from school, and being able to buy what they need without a separate trip are important. Consider access to the beach, pool and club as specific conditions of the chosen home.

What to check

  • Exit route from the selected part of the island
  • Actual beach access
  • Shops and services around the house

A property viewing checklist

Compare two specific homes in Palm Jumeirah instead of judging the whole district by its image. Record answers after each viewing and use the same criteria for both.

Keep these notes from each viewing

  1. Travel from each address to Palm West Beach at the time you would normally make the journey. Routes within one district can differ materially.
  2. If schooling matters, check the route to GEMS Wellington International School, the relevant year group and admission rules directly with the school. Proximity does not guarantee a place.
  3. Check the route from each address to Shopping on the island and its opening hours. If it is a club or private facility, confirm access rules and any separate fees.
  4. For both homes, record usable area, condition, parking, shared facilities and annual ownership costs. Compare documents and the actual building, not only the community name.
