ASAS Real Estate has started roads and utility networks for residential, commercial and industrial sites across the emirate.

On 24 September, ASAS Real Estate, the real estate arm of Sharjah Islamic Bank, announced that infrastructure work had begun across 11 land projects in Sharjah. The programme includes internal roads, electricity and water supply, telecommunications networks and street lighting. This phase prepares plots for subsequent development; the announcement does not mean that residential buildings are already being built or are ready for occupancy.

The named residential and commercial sites include Al Dabdabah South and North, Hooshi, Al Belaida, Al Rowaidat, Al Metraq and Muhadhab. The works also cover commercial and industrial areas in Al Qasimia, Al Sajaa and Logistics City. The developer says some sites are close to Emirates Road and Al Belaida is near Dubai. This may matter to people considering a home or land in Sharjah while commuting regularly between emirates.

Buyers should assess each project separately: the land uses and stages of readiness differ. For a residential purchase, seek verified permits, planning documents, utility connections, construction schedules and contract terms. For an investment assessment, proximity to a highway is only one factor; actual travel time, rental demand and ownership costs should be checked for the precise location. The start of infrastructure work is a useful sign of progress, but it cannot replace legal and technical due diligence on a specific property.
