Oud Maitha and Al Asayel road upgrades completed in Dubai

Dubai's RTA has completed 14 km of roads, four bridges and two tunnels, improving access to several residential districts.

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on 20 September that all work on Oud Maitha Road and Al Asayel Street had been completed. The project upgraded four major intersections and delivered four bridges, two tunnels with a combined length of 4.3 km, and 14 km of roads. The new layout connects Al Asayel Street to Al Khail Road via Al Wasl Club Street and makes Oud Maitha Road easier to reach.

The changes serve Za'abeel, Al Jaddaf, Oud Maitha and Umm Hurair, as well as routes to Latifa Hospital and Al Wasl Club. RTA says the two-way capacity of Oud Maitha Road has risen from 10,400 to 15,600 vehicles per hour. It estimates that a journey on the route covered by the project can fall from 20 minutes to five. That is a measure for a particular route, not a promise that every resident will save the same amount of time.

For homebuyers in these districts, the completion is a reason to revisit transport assumptions for a specific address. Check actual journeys at the times that matter: to work, school, the airport and everyday services. The upgrade improves access, but it does not by itself guarantee higher property prices or eliminate congestion on every neighbouring street.
