Storage in an apartment: how to notice a lack of space before moving

Suitcases, sports equipment and household items should be placed on the plan as carefully as a bed and sofa.

Divide storage into daily, seasonal and bulk storage. Shoes at the entrance, household chemicals, suitcases and bicycles require different places. A decorative niche does not replace a cabinet of suitable depth, and a wide corridor does not always allow the installation of furniture.

Check interior depth of cabinets and door opening. Check which systems are actually included in the selected apartment. The showroom may have additional elements that are not included in the standard version.

Common areas

If a separate storage room is offered, find out its exact location, access and conditions of use. Storage in a parking lot or hallway cannot be considered automatically permitted. A good result of the inspection is a clear layout of things without blocking passages and turning the balcony into a warehouse.
