You need Internet on your phone after arrival: contact the greeter, open the address, check the reservation. But an offer with a large number of gigabytes may not solve another problem - calling a local number or receiving a message on a familiar SIM. Therefore, it is better to choose communications for the UAE from the list of actions, and not from the most noticeable tariff.

Divide your needs into mobile Internet, regular calls and SMS, saving your home number and distributing the Internet to other devices. Then compare them to length of stay. eSIM is a connection format, not a ready-made set of services

Compatibility is checked before payment

For eSIM, the exact model and regional version of the phone, support for profiles and the absence of operator blocking are important. The same brand name for a device does not always mean the same capabilities. Check the model with the manufacturer's instructions and the requirements of the package supplier.

Installation usually requires an internet connection. Save the instructions and order details so that they are accessible without a mobile network. Check if re-installation is allowed and what to do when changing your phone. Deleting a profile in an attempt to fix a connection without instructions from support is risky: the activation code may not be intended to be reused.

For families, check access point support. If a parent is going to distribute the Internet to a child or a laptop, the limitations of this function are more important than a large general limit. Also check how many lines the device can keep active at the same time: having several saved profiles does not mean that they all work together.

Home number requires separate configuration

Keeping your home SIM may be necessary for banking messages and communicating with loved ones. However, connecting a travel eSIM does not in itself disable roaming on the other line. You need to check the settings separately for each number and the home operator tariff.

On your phone, select a mobile data line and check whether it can switch between lines automatically.
