The total monetary value of trade across the three Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) zones reached AED246 billion in January–June 2026. The result was published on 18 October. It represents a 17% increase compared with the first half of 2025.
Imports amounted to AED134.8 billion, re-exports to approximately AED108.8 billion and direct exports to around AED2.4 billion. DIEZ's share of Dubai's non-oil trade increased to approximately 16%, compared with 15.4% a year earlier. The statistics cover a defined group of economic zones and a specific six-month period.
Machinery, equipment and electrical equipment made up the largest share, at approximately 66% of total trade. Precious stones, metals and jewellery accounted for around 30%. This breakdown identifies the main product categories behind the published results.
For an entrepreneur planning operations in the emirate, the report provides context about the business environment. It helps frame questions about logistics connections, company location and access to relevant markets. When choosing an office or housing for employees, daily journeys and the business's particular requirements also matter.
Growth in the zones' monetary trade value does not by itself establish an individual company's income or changes in property values. A practical comparison of premises and areas rests on their characteristics, actual use and lease terms. The new report adds trade activity data to that assessment.
