The crossings are scheduled for completion in June and October 2027; construction has already started.

Construction has begun on two pedestrian bridges on Palm Jumeirah. RTA and Dubai Holding Community Management announced the start on 29 October; the transport authority's detailed release is dated 30 October. The project concerns everyday routes between the island's residential neighbourhoods, shops and visitor attractions.

The first crossing will be near Shoreline, at the entrance to Palm Jumeirah, with completion planned for June 2027. The second is being built near Golden Mile, beside the retail frontages on the outbound side, with October 2027 given as its target. These are future completion dates, so the new crossings cannot yet be used.

Each bridge will have a 40-metre span and lifts. Their combined capacity will be 2,700 pedestrians an hour. Project participants estimate that around 16,000 residents will benefit, while vehicle waiting times at nearby junctions are expected to fall by 50%. The latter figure is a projected effect, not a result already measured.

When choosing an apartment, it is useful to compare the future crossings with the building's actual entrance and the family's usual routes. A development name associated with Shoreline or Golden Mile does not by itself establish how convenient a walk will be: the exit from the building, approach to the bridge and access to the required shops all matter.

During construction, assess the existing crossings and traffic arrangements separately. Future infrastructure is best considered alongside an address's accessibility today, particularly when planning to move soon.
