On 13 October 2026, du announced commercial U6GHz connectivity through its live 5G+ network and commercially available customer equipment. The operator uses the upper 6 GHz band: 350 MHz of spectrum within 6775–7125 MHz. This expands wireless network capacity and supports, among other uses, home and business FWA access: internet delivered through the mobile network and a router installed at the customer’s premises.

For an apartment buyer, the announcement matters as a development in one way of connecting a home to the internet. It describes an operating 5G+ network; progress towards future 6G is presented as the next direction of development. Service availability at a particular address, the compatible router model and connection terms should be considered separately from the technology announcement itself.

Before choosing a home for remote work, gather three kinds of information: which connections are offered in the building, what equipment supports the required service, and how connectivity works in the apartment’s intended working area. Then compare your work requirements, including video calls, file transfers and the number of connected devices, with the chosen option. du’s announcement does not provide a speed measurement for a particular room.

It helps to divide the budget into equipment, initial connection and recurring payments. To compare housing options, use the guide “How to choose a Dubai neighbourhood for your lifestyle”; continue exploring the budget in “The costs of owning property in Dubai”. These pages connect the technical choice of connection with a future resident’s everyday needs.
