RTA and Dubai Police have announced changes to speed limits on five streets from 1 November 2026. The announcement was published on 21 October. The changes apply to defined sections in both directions.

On Al Asayel, between Oud Maitha Street and Al Meydan Street, the limit will rise from 60 to 80 km/h. On Al Mustaqbal, between Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Meydan Street, and on Latifa bint Hamdan, between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, it will rise from 60 to 70 km/h.

On Al Rebat, between Marrakech Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the limit will fall from 100 to 90 km/h. On Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, between 2nd December Street and Khalid bin Al Waleed Street, it will change from 80 to 70 km/h.

RTA will replace the relevant road signs by the implementation date, and cameras will be reprogrammed for the new limits. The decision follows an engineering study of road characteristics and traffic conditions.

Residents and homebuyers can compare the affected sections with their routes between home, school and work. A home’s accessibility depends on the whole journey, including exits from the neighbourhood, junctions and traffic at the relevant time. A change to the limit alone does not calculate the journey time from a particular address.
