Dubai Municipality announced on 18 October that it had completed more than 107 urban projects worth a combined AED1.6 billion during 2026. Delivered through its Public Facilities Agency, the work covered public spaces, everyday neighbourhood infrastructure and facilities for government entities.
The update names Al Mamzar Beaches, neighbourhood parks, Hewi Dubai in Nad Al Sheba, schools, community majlis and projects in the emirate's rural areas. Public beach development accounted for 36% of total investment, with another 22% allocated to beautification, landscaping and agricultural initiatives. These percentages describe how investment was distributed across activities.
The Municipality links the programme to wider access to places for walking, recreation and social interaction. Planning draws on residents' feedback, visitor observations and operating data. This approach considers how a space is used after construction has finished.
For a family choosing a home, the announcement offers a reason to assess the surroundings beyond the development itself. When visiting an area, look at the actual approaches to parks and public facilities, the convenience of walking routes and activities available to children. The overall update does not provide an opening schedule for every section or exact routes from individual buildings. Establishing these details for the chosen location helps families compare apartments using amenities already available for everyday life.
