RTA has announced that the final bridge at the redeveloped World Trade Centre interchange will open on Friday, 30 October 2026. The announcement was published on 25 October. The new section will carry traffic from Al Majlis Street to 2nd December Street.
The bridge is one kilometre long and will have two lanes. Its stated capacity is approximately 3,000 vehicles per hour. RTA estimates that travel between the specified streets will fall from six minutes to one. This figure relates to that particular traffic movement.
Opening the final section will complete the main works of a project comprising five bridges with a combined length of five kilometres. The redevelopment costs more than AED 696 million. It also includes replacing the former roundabout with an at-grade junction.
The interchange serves central business and residential areas, including World Trade Centre, DIFC, Za’abeel, Al Satwa, Al Karama, Al Jafiliya and Al Mankhool. Anyone choosing an apartment nearby can check how the new route connects with the specific entrance to their home or office.
After opening, it is worth reassessing the daily journey at usual travel times. A building’s proximity to an interchange and access to the required direction are different characteristics. RTA’s announcement establishes a date for the road layout change, while practical convenience is best checked along the entire route from home to destination.
